Your Nikkah and civil law
A Nikkah certificate confirms an Islamic marriage. On its own it may not give your marriage legal recognition in England and Wales, so we encourage couples to check their legal position and complete a civil marriage where needed.

Sheikh Abul Kamal Moudood Hasan
Senior Scholar & Religious Guide
A respected community figure and active Da’wah worker. In 1993 he established Hasan Travel & Tours, originally Hasan Hajj Tours, to guide pilgrims from Greater London on Hajj and Umrah, and he has served pilgrims for over three decades.
Sheikh Mishkat Hasan
Teacher of Hadith and Aqidah at Q-Iman
A British Islamic scholar and community leader with over 20 years of experience in Da’wah and education. He memorised the Qur’an early in life and graduated from the Islamic University of Madinah. He serves as a Khateeb at major mosques in London, and his support helped Q-Iman establish at the Islamic Guidance Centre.

Do we need a wali and witnesses?
The requirements follow Islamic guidelines and can depend on your circumstances. Our team will confirm exactly what is needed for you when you enquire.
Is the Nikkah legally recognised?
A Nikkah certificate confirms an Islamic marriage but may not give legal recognition in England and Wales on its own. We encourage you to check your legal position and complete a civil marriage where needed. Ask us and we will talk it through.
Can we hold our celebration at the Centre?
Yes. Our Function room holds up to 70 guests. Catering, a PA system and video / projection can be added, with the PA and video as extras at additional cost.
Which languages can the Nikkah be conducted in?
Your Nikkah can be conducted in English, Arabic, Bengali, Urdu or Hindi. Tell us your preference on the form and we will arrange it.
Can an Imam attend our wedding at another venue?
Yes. Our Imams can attend your own wedding at any venue. Choose “Imam at my own venue” on the form and enquire for more information.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the package, room, duration and extras you choose. Send an enquiry for availability and a quote.
How early should we enquire?
As early as you can. We confirm availability for your preferred date and get back to you with the next steps.
