Our Objectives

Education & research

We wish to educate and prepare future high-calibre, morally ethical role models for wider society through Islamic teachings, encouraging social participation, providing academic support and teaching, and advocating a good work ethic. We aim to do this by providing:

• Qur’anic and Islamic studies for all ages
• General mainstream education and study support
• Languages: Arabic, Bengali and English

We also conduct research on contemporary issues, Fiqh and Islam, to provide the best education, information and solutions.

Propagation

We promote social cohesion, community and citizen participation, harmony, social inclusion, and good relations between people of different faiths and none, through:

• Lectures and seminars, prayer meetings, public celebration of religious festivals and interfaith collaboration
• An accessible advice and information service for Muslim and non-Muslim audiences
• Consultancy and chaplaincy services for other charities, statutory and non-statutory bodies and government authorities

Services for holistic welfare

The Centre provides services for the holistic welfare of the local community:

• A community hub for other agencies to deliver services that have a high impact on improving people’s lives
• Community capacity building, based on the needs of the community and service users, to deliver sustainable investment
• Partnerships with organisations with similar aims, and with statutory and governmental services such as social services

Community

The local community benefits from the Centre’s activities through:

• Regular programmes that support social participation, networking and interaction, preventing or minimising isolation and mental ill health
• Activities that promote community involvement and harmony
• Initiatives that promote women’s empowerment, youth empowerment and involvement, and older people’s participation

We aim to ensure the Centre is used all the time and that all services are open to everyone in the community.
