What is the Shahada?
The Shahada is the declaration of faith and the first pillar of Islam. It is made sincerely, with an understanding of what it means. If you have questions about it, or about what comes next, we are glad to talk them through with you.

Our Imams will guide you through the declaration and what it means, so that you take it with confidence.
Advice and counselling
Speak with an Imam trained to advise on the questions and concerns that come with a new chapter of life, including family and cultural challenges.
Lectures and halaqahs
Regular Tafsir of the Qur’an and halaqahs on a range of topics, open to all age groups, to help you keep learning.

You do not need to have everything figured out. The Shahada is where the journey begins, and learning continues afterwards. We will help you with the next steps at a pace that suits you.
The Centre is open solely for the benefit of the community, and everyone is welcome.

Do I need to know everything about Islam first?
No. The Shahada is the starting point. There is a great deal to learn afterwards, and we will help you with where to begin.
Can I just talk to someone first?
Yes. Choose “Speak to an Imam first” on the form, or call us. There is no pressure to decide anything.
Which languages can you help in?
Tell us your preferred language on the form and we will do our best to arrange it.
What happens after I take my Shahada?
We can advise you on next steps, and point you to our regular lectures and halaqahs, and to courses with our partner Q-Iman.
